Privacy

What we collect, what we don’t, and where each product stands. Effective August 22, 2026.

The short version

Thrain LLC makes small software tools. Most of them do their work entirely in your browser and send us nothing. None of them runs analytics scripts, advertising, or tracking cookies. We do not sell or share personal data, and the only third parties that touch it are the named processors below. Where a product does need to receive something from you, it keeps it for a stated, short time and then deletes it.

This site, thrain.ai

This is a static page with no accounts, forms, cookies, or analytics. It is served by GitHub Pages, which, like every web host, sees ordinary request logs (your IP address, browser and the page requested) in order to serve them; we do not receive or keep those logs. If you email [email protected], we keep the correspondence for as long as it takes to answer you and for our records.

The products

Each product lives at its own address. Where a product has its own terms and privacy page, that page is the precise statement and governs; this is the summary.

Blackout · blackout.thrain.ai

Redaction runs entirely in your browser. The PDF you open, the text found in it and the file you export never leave your device — load the page, go offline, and it still works. If you buy a license, payment is handled by Stripe and your card details never reach us. We keep a license record tied to the email address you gave at checkout so we can verify your license and send a restore link if you ask for one; restore emails are sent through Resend. The license token itself is held in your browser’s local storage.

Spotlight · spotlight.thrain.ai

The free compliance checker runs entirely in your browser; files you check are never transmitted. If you submit a document to be fixed, we receive the PDF, the email address for delivery and ordinary technical logs. Processing runs on our own hardware in the United States, fronted by Cloudflare; payment is handled by Stripe; delivery email goes through Resend. Uploaded and generated files are deleted automatically after 7 days and job records after 30. The exact terms are at spotlight.thrain.ai/legal.

Charts · charts.thrain.ai

A static site drawn from public datasets, each credited on its page. There are no accounts and no cookies. The only thing stored is the like-count on each post — a number per post, with no record of who pressed it.

Vetted · vetted.thrain.ai

A static site whose reports are public data files; reading them sends us nothing, and there are no accounts, analytics or tracking cookies. The one thing you can give it is an email address for story alerts, and that is used to send the alerts and for nothing else.

Warehouse Lint · Snowflake Native App

Warehouse Lint is installed from the Snowflake Marketplace and runs entirely inside your own Snowflake account. It reads only the metadata you grant it — object names, columns, view definitions and dependencies from Snowflake’s ACCOUNT_USAGE and INFORMATION_SCHEMA views — and never reads a row of your data. Everything it writes (scan results, your rule configuration) lives inside the application object in your account; it creates nothing in your databases, has no network access and no external functions, and there is no channel by which anything reaches Thrain. We receive no data from your installation. Listing, installation and any billing are handled by Snowflake under its own terms.

Who else touches your data

Only these, and only for the purpose named: GitHub Pages and Cloudflare to serve the sites; Stripe to take payment; Resend to send the emails a product needs to send; Snowflake to list and install Warehouse Lint in your own account. There are no advertising networks, analytics vendors or data brokers, and we never sell personal data.

Your data, your call

Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, to have it deleted ahead of schedule, or to have a license record removed. We answer from a real inbox. Our products are not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

The current policy lives at this address. If our practice changes, this page changes in the same release, and the effective date at the top moves with it.
